Kevin James is Scott Voss. Not the best high school teacher, but he has a lot of heart for the kids. When their art programs are on the chopping block because of the budget, Voss steps it up and steps into the ring, or rather the cage. He decides to help raise the money by entering Mixed Martial Arts competition. But can a biology teaching softie like him last long enough to even train for a fight?
I’m predicting that this is going to be the best ‘Feel Good’ movie of the year. Heck, I was rooting for him just from the trailer. Plus, I don’t know anybody that doesn’t like Kevin James. He looks like he got in great shape for the film, and it still has that physical humor that he does. And who can blame him for chasing after Salma Hayek? Director Frank Coraci might have a winner here if the word gets out. BOOM could do better than him and Kevin James’ last film ZOOKEEPER.
The film also stars Henry Winkler, Melissa Peterman and Reggie Lee.
HERE COMES THE BOOM is scheduled to hit theaters October 12, 2012.
